I have used VMware Workstation and Player. Am now working with Vcenter Lab Manager. Was not that impressed with VMware. But liking the Lab Manager. Of course this is a school environment. But we I believe over 300 virtualized stations and expecting to get up to 500 within the year.
I am in my last year here. I am currently taking a special topics credit in Computer Forensics and Investigation. The bulk of my classes up until now have not been hard but have filled my lack of XP and knowledge on this subject.
I would say if you think you have to Sec+ will be the most useful/easy cert to pass if you can not get it waived. Most…[Read more]
I am currently a student at Eastern Carolina University (on the NSA list for Academic Excellence mentioned earlier) in NC. ECU offers a completely online MS in Networking and Info Security/Assurance. I started the BS with little XP or knowledge and must admit that I have learned a lot. I have posted information about the school to another post…[Read more]
I know I am going to seem like I am promoting my own school. But East Carolina University has a BS and MS programs in both Networking and Security.
I will be taking a class this summer in Computer Forensics.
It is the one of the few Universities that I know of that promotes Certs as part of the program. Some of the certs are used as part of the…[Read more]
That is perfect. I have a study guide for the class material I have and can use that to study. Then use the online skills assessment on the site to get some practice and see what I still need to work on.
Couple of questions for you.
Where do you live?
Where are you getting your MS from?
Are you an on-campus or online student?
Are you required to take cert tests as part of grade?
Does your school require you to do an internship?
Does your school have a career center?
Do you have time to volunteer?
As simple as the ?’s are they will go a long way…[Read more]
That is a shame Vedder $800 is a lot to throw down for a cert. I am hoping to place high enough in my class to get a free voucher for the RHCT cert. Well I have no XP but my scripting teacher tells me I show great talent for troubleshooting as well. I am expecting to do a internship with Cisco over the summer. We will see how everything works out.
So has anyone found it to be DIRECTLY helpful in either getting a job or on the job. My instructor said that if I were to get RHCE that the only choices I would have to make is where to work and figure out what color Porsche I want. I am not truly relying on this cert alone. Just trying to figure out how much weight it actually carries.
A lot of presumptions were made in the responses. The information was capture on the down link. The connection to the drone has always been encrypted as to not allow anyone to gain control of the drone. The video stream coming from the drone however has been known to be unsecure since the 90’s. It was thought that it would be more hassle than it…[Read more]
If you are interested in this as just a hobby you may want to start by getting a Sec+ book from Amazon or somewhere. Then study some Net+/CCNA stuff. By the time you are done with these two things you will have a good understanding of how networks work and how they are affected by outside things and should have a good idea what you need to do…[Read more]
