Wireshark 0.99.3 Released

Security-related vulnerabilities in the SCSI, DHCP, ESP, and Q.2931 dissectors have been fixed. See the advisory for details.

This release adds ESP, Kerberos, and SSL decryption in the Windows installer. It also adds support for AirPcap, a new product from CACE Technologies that allows raw 802.11 captures under Windows.

As for AirPcap:

AirPcap is the first open, affordable and easy to deploy WLAN (802.11b/g) packet capture solution for the Windows platform. AirPcap comes as a USB 2.0 adapter, and it's been fully integrated with WinPcap and Wireshark: it enables you to capture and analyze 802.11b/g wireless traffic, including control frames, management frames and power information, using Wireshark on your Windows laptop.

Re: Wireshark 0.99.3 Released

At nearly $200 the AirPcap solution seems pretty expensive. What does it give you over a good quality wifi card when it comes to sniffing? It doesn't seem to offer spectrum analysis like the bumblebee product I've come across so why the hefty price tag?
