More funding for security research and education...

Not unexpected, but good news for anyone preparing to go to school for security research:

The NSF will be awarded $94m (£60m) to fund scholarships into security research, on the proviso that those who receive them work in the public sector for the same number of years as their studies.

Re: More funding for security research and education...

I don't think having to work in the public sector for the same amount of time as study is a bad thing, as long as:

1) there is a job there for you to fullfil
2) the work you do in the pub sector, becomes public information (doesn't get locked away as secret or copy rigthted or anything like that).
