Lost WPA2 Password Help

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry to be asking for help on my first post but this is urgent.

I have lost my WPA2 password, however it is still stored on my Windows 7 Computer - I automatically connect to the network once it is in range. Is there anyway to recover this password?

If anything helps here are some more details I was able to extract from the computer in Control Panel:

Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption: AES

Please help me in recovering my password. Thank you.

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

That way only shows me the WPA or WEP password - not WPA2 on Windows 7.

I can't even see the box to tick on my computer. I just have the two drop down menus and a Network Authentication Method on the bottom.

Sorry if it was of no use to you.

I don't use Windows at all, but from that same web site listed above

"How to Recover, Retrieve, Show or Display Network Security Key for WEP, WPA or WPA2 Protected Secure Wireless Network
in Windows 7"

Is why I linked it.

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

Thanks for your reply,

Just to let you know what the problem was - there was no "Show characters" box I could tick. It was just the properties menu.

Any other method that anyone knows of to retrieve the password?

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

Why is the need of recovering the password? You can just set the new one in the router settings.

Yes that is correct. I have tried the tool and it doesn't work on the laptop.

The reason I don't want to reset it, is because it would give me a pain in the neck trying to configure all the computers and laptops again. I was hoping of a more simple solution to this. Anyone care to help me out?

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

1. call tech support for your network tell them you forgot your password

or

2. grab router + reset

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

Forgot about this on the Network Adapter with no hack tools installed simply Left click on your wireless device from the System Tray and right click on the SSID or Wireless Access Point that you are connected and go to Properties-->Security Tab--->check on Show Characters this should reveal your wireless key.

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

Cain & Abel allows you to "read" the password boxes and retrieve the key even if it is blanked out by ******.

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

You could delve into the registry.  Windows tends to store that kind of information there.  Cain & Abel could probably help you with that.  Good luck.

Re: Lost WPA2 Password Help

Wouldn't the key be in protected storage?  Cain and Abel can dump that.
