Microsoft reaches for new heights (lows?) of exaggeration

In what I can only imagine is an attempt at sarcasm, Kevin Turner of Microsoft said:

Vista today, post-Service Pack 2, which is now in the marketplace, is the safest, most reliable OS we've ever built. It's also the most secure OS on the planet

Amazing. I'll have to bring this up at work so that we can get cracking on switching the whole company to vista.  ::)

I had to actually click on the link and search for that section.  I thought that you may have copied it wrong.  More secure OS on the planet?  Wow, delusions of grandeur.  ;D

I made it through an entire week of Vista on my laptop before it got recored.

I had to read it several times myself. Appalling, isn't it?

The statement is true, you guys missed the part where this press release was posted from a different planet. Vista SP2 is the most secure OS on Uranus.

Re: Microsoft reaches for new heights (lows?) of exaggeration

timmedin, I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I read your reply.

I'll go with the most secure version of Windows ever produced (and that ain't saying much) but certainly not the most secure OS on THIS planet.

Seriously though, does anyone know any remote code execution attacks against Vista itself (not its applications) that allow you to gain control of the system without already having system credentials?  If so I'm all ears.

My favorite exploit on Vista is a DOS exploit.  It involves a baseball bat, lots of aggression, and Geto Boyz playing in the background.

This is ridiculous. Everyone knows OSX is the most secure OS It never crashes and can't even get viruses.

(Sorry for resurrecting an old thread; that joke never gets old.)

You need to use the sarcasm font for that one.
