EC-Council (& ECSA/LPT)

The EC-Council has released a new website layout (looks a lot better in my opinion). Their site is here: eccouncil.org. In addition to the new layout, they seem to be adding a few more certifications such as Certified Computer Investigator and Certified VOIP Professional. They have also released the new course outline for ECSAv3. It seems they are really combining ECSA and LPT more now than before, but the newer outline looks a LOT more intense than the original.

I'll be attending the ECSA/LPT rollout course next month at the Techno Security Conference, and someone else had posted that they'll be going as well. I look forward to meeting anyone else attending the course/conference and we'll be sure to post our feedback :)

Re: EC-Council (& ECSA/LPT)

I saw the new site, and I agree that the design is much better.

As for ECSA/LPT, I'm curious how many people are really interested in this. We are finalizing our course offerings for ChicagoCon, and this one so far is not making the cut due to lack of interest. What are the thoughts out there on the desire for the readers of EH-Net to take this course?

Thanks,
Don

The Techno Security Conference & rollout of the ECSA/LPT look AWSOME!!!  :o

I soooooooo wish I could go!  The price is a little steep, but that's cool that it includes the whole conference too.

I'll keep dreamin for now...

Well the price went up as it got closer to the date. I registered early and only paid $1500 ;D

Does that include hotel, meals, study materials and exam fees?

Re: EC-Council (& ECSA/LPT)

It does not include travel expenses or hotel. Although, I think you had an option of buying a package through the conference host that included hotel (not sure how that would work with taking a course and receiving admission free). Breakfast and lunch is included though... here's what all is included in the package:

    *  ECSA/LPT Accelerated Workshop
    * ECSA Official Course Guide
    * LPT Official Course Guide
    * ECSA exam voucher
    * LPT Application Fee Discount
    * Free Techno Security Conference Pass
    * Free Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Breaks)

I decided to make this into a vacation, so I will be taking my wife and daughter with me. In addition, my parents will be coming too. They'll all be able to hang out while I'm in the class or at the conference (though I'll probably only spend a day or half a day at the actual conference). We're using my parents 'vacation club' to stay at a condo on the beach for $99 Saturday-Saturday, and my mom has sky miles so the plane tickets aren't costing anything... I worked it out pretty smoothly ;D

Re: EC-Council (& ECSA/LPT)

Also, I had asked if they could ship the courseware to me directly prior to the conference, but it's not looking like it will be ready far enough in advance. We'll need to go pick up our course materials at the EC-Council booth once the conference starts. That leaves very limited time for reading the material before the workshop :(

That link goes to ECSA/LPT... you'll need to make a new board for the CHFI v3 modules ;)
