Networking Windows XP

Ok, this probably does not belong on this forum, or even this website, but I thought I would give it a go anyways. Then again, it is considered hacking.  I dont know how to explain this easiest, so it will be easy to follow. I am trying to gain access to a network PC with default Windows configurations (I have not installed anything on the PC, or changed any settings since I installed Windows on the PC). I have the username and password to the account (Which is just "Administrator" and password is "Password", but what can I do once I have it? I have put misc. files all around the PC, and I am trying to view them, but I am having a hard time trying to do so. Is it even possible without a complex solution and a lot of free time?
