Any risks to an open box model?

Am I exposing myself to any meaningful risk by purchasing an open-box model (iMac from BestBuy)? They say they return everything to factory settings if a customer returns a computer with an open box, but does any risk remain of the previous "customer" putting any tracking device, etc on the computer?

Tnx!

They should do, but there have been incident's where this hasn't happened, and the previous customers data has still been left on the disk.

Personally, I'd perform a secure erase of the hard drive myself and then reinstall the OS from known good media.
