Finally taking Security+ April 20th *Update PASSED*

I have been putting this off for far to long. Getcertified4less had a voucher for $200 so I jumped on it. I am actually pretty nervous about this one because I haven’t studied in awhile. Looks like I will be cramming for the next 1 1/2 weeks.

I know a lot of the material but there are areas I am week in like all the different analysis formulas for risk, SLE, and so on. Plus I need to get upto speed on asymmetric stuff again.

I hope I pass. Will see I guess.

I would recommend the Syngress book. Its the only study material I used other than Google.

Well I did the deed today and passed with an 850. I am glad that it’s finally over. I felt like I knew the material but the questions make no sense at all the way they word them and ask them. Luckily I knew the material enough to get through it.

Good Job! There is a new policy of Comptia on their Certs- if you pass on or before Dec 2010- You dont need to renew the certification. By Jan 2011- Certs will be renewable every 3 yrs!

I think I am going to finish out my MCSA. I only have 2 exams left to get that. Then I will be going after the GSEC I think with some linux studying in there somewhere.
