EH-Net Global Calendar - Texas Cyber Summit 2019Texas Cyber Summit 2019 is a premier cyber security summit held in San Antonio Texas, with the mission of spreading knowledge and interest in the field of Cyber Security. We are an inclusive summit that allows all Cybersecurity groups, associations and meetups to get involved. We are considered a deeply technically focused Cybersecurity Summit.

That’s right the internet is a seedy, wild-west, waste-land sort of place, with nefarious actors, nation states, and organized criminals all looking to benefit off a single mistake you make – connecting to a free open wifi connection, browsing the wrong website, throwing caution to the wind – Click’Click’Click

Personal information PII , credit cards, drivers license, Social Security, birth certificates, bank accounts – all for-sale on the internet. Where do you suppose they get that information ? A large majority is from mistakes we make as users make, browsing to the wrong website, clicking on the wrong email, filing out phony surveys and get rich quick schemes. Click’Click’Click’

The Texas Cyber Summit was organized and being run to help educate the masses, from introduction to cyber security, we call : Cyber0101, to the more Advanced and even Expert level training., you can learn to shore up your bad practices, and improve your Cyber Hygiene.

October 7th – 9th is Pre-Con Training Three Days of professional training provided by NSS/Not So Secure, the Same World-wide organization that provides training at Black Hat USA / Black Hat ASIA, /Black Hat UK and many other events. Now you can obtain this career path development, expert level training at a fraction of the cost of travel and hotel.

October 10th – 12th – The Texas Cyber Summit 2019 is three days of over 75 briefings and hands on training, including training for those that are Cyber Novices, to those that are Expert level defenders and operators. Texas Cyber Summit 2019 Program


Track 1 – Cyber 0101 – Introduction to Cybersecurity, explore the domains; Threats from nation states, social media, search engines, hackers. learn the art of Safe computing and protecting your identity. Learn what PII Personally Identifiable information is and how to protect it. Security Awareness for your entire team. introduction to Red Team, Blue Team, Devops, DevSecOps, Snipit code programming to intermediate level training. Learn how to defend your perimeter against attackers to testing your resolve.

Track 2 – Tactical Mid-Level – Intermediate mid-level Cyber – Geared toward the daily defender, operator, consultant, these mid range to upper level talks are by cyber experts who provide you with real world solutions and provide highly technical next level briefings, programing secure code, Penetration testing, Defending and Attacking the realm.

Track 3 – Advanced Uber Cyber – Advanced Cyber for the seasoned professional, deep dives, highly technical, developing exploits, reverse engineering, Exploiting Cyber, technical demos, how-to’s and follow along’s, all highly technical briefings. Bring your laptop and prepare to take your skill set and knowledge to the next level.

Track 4 – BEE’ING New – Join a cast of industry experts that guide you from starting your job in Cybersecurity to whats next, now that your in the industry, mentors work with you on Linux, Containers, Securing your systems, to operational and running in a few days. Ending with a friendly, mentor driven Capture the Flag event.

Track 5 – 7 – Expert Hardcore Level – Three of the most intense tracks, dedicated to the the Samurai , the hardened operator & defender, pushing the attendees capability to the edge, deeply technical, hands-on, most courses are 2-4hrs long, laptops required.

Track 8 – CIO/CISO/CSO – Governance, Risk Controls, Audit, Security Program management, IS Core Competencies, Strategic Planning, Financial and Vendor Management. Corporate Security, designing a Cybersecurity Awareness program for success.

Career Summit – Two days of Resume Reviews, coaching, guidance, mock and real interviews, Talks geared towards making a better candidate and employee, and a large number of hiring companies helping attendees find careers.

  • Hackers Haven: – This is CTF Central, where all the action is, Capture the flags from Beginner to highly advanced levels, Blue Team, Red Team and Purple team challenges and competition opportunities. Bring your crew or join a team.

    • Hackers Tunes: This is where the music and beats are played all the time, all three days, If your a well known DJ, or aspiring DJ, submit your samples for opportunities to spin tunes.

  • Hackers Hangout: The haven’s Hacker hangout is a place to socialize, meet new people, visit with old friends.

    • Visit with old friends and meet new ones.

    • Coach and become a mentor to aspiring Cybersecurity and infosec new lings.

    • Bestow your expertise onto the next generation, provide knowledge transfer and tips/tricks of the trade.

  • Hackers Armory: Tool builders from around the world converge on Texas Cyber Summit to show off their applications

    • Experts show off their software, tools, systems, applications, modules, capabilities.

    • Here programmers, experts will demo, exhibit, code, re-code, and interact with attendees.

  • Hackers Lab: – Hardware hacking at its finest, from Arduino’s to Rasp Pie, to makers, bring your own kits or buy one and build it among coaches, experts and friends, here anything from badge hacking to toaster hacking goes. (no flame throwers please)

  • Hackers Lair: – Immerse yourself in the “War of the Cyber Worlds” Themed area,

    • Lock picking – Get your hands on all kinds of locks from pad-locks to door locks learn from experts

    • Hardware Hacking – learn from experts on solid soldering tips, build badges, blinky gadgets, gizmos and more

    • Photo booth, WiFi Wireless Village and Wireless CTF, plenty of online games, lounge area, silent movies, popcorn and much more

  • ICS/Scada Haven: The ICS SCADA Village, industrial control, building controls

    • Real Industrial and building control systems, how to bypass, monitor, and look for attackers – see these systems in action

    • Critical infrastructure systems, Scada, PLC’s and more, get your hands on and play with these systems and learn what makes them tick from professionals.

  • Malware Haven: Hands on reverse engineering Malware, Create Malware, the entire Eco-system and why hackers utilize malware to maintain a persistent connection. Get hands-on how to detect, detour, defeat and foil hackers attempts to obtain your data.
