Basic knowledge & Prerequisites for CEH Certification

Hi All,

I am currently working in SQL support (no much technical,just simple queries execution) and i have 5 Yrs of experience in this domain.
I am planning to change my career to different domain  , so i prefered Ethical hacking  and i have decided to do CEH exam in couple of months. I do not have relevant experience in networking/ windows/Linux domain, except that i know the basic networking concepts. I am going to join in authorized EC-Council training center. Before that i am thinking to learn the Prerequisites for CEHexam. So please advise me, what are all the knowledge i need to have before i get into CEH study?

There are no prerequisites, per se; anyone can pay the fee and take the test. You don't have to have attended a particular course, or have a number of years of work experience, or such.

Still, you'll need a fairly specific knowledge base to pass. I suggest you just buy one of the many books or video series and browse through it (or even peruse it) prior to your course. It will prime you for learning, and help you identify the questions you otherwise won't necessarily think to ask during the course.

You can resell your book/videos after the course and only be out the shipping you originally paid.
