About 10 months, I had a lot of interruption's due to work and the training I had to do for my job. While studying for the C|EH I also had to study Epic Health Care Systems to certify in becoming the Security Coordinator for my Company. So C|EH kept getting pushed off. I did self study, boy was it a lot. I think next time will be a boot camp (as I am doing for the CISSP in 2 weeks)
I just wanted to come by and say I took the C|EH (v6) and passed it today. I got an 86% (70 is pass). So i am very happy. I found the test easy but hard. Hard because it covers so much information, easy because it was surface information. As I was told a couple times the C|EH is "A mile wide, and a inch deep" So to those of who are studying, make sure you know everything you learn especially your tools! Questions go from what tool to use and when, to whats the next step after a ping sweep fails. Other than that good luck to anyone else that takes it. Now its on to the CISSP then CHFI
Hi all, I am currently in the process of self-studying for CEHv6. I am hoping to take the test before v6 expires but I may just miss it. So my question is can I use the v6 courseware to pass the v7 test? How much does v7 differ from v6? Hopefully someone can give me some insight because I am pulling my hair out. Thanks,
I am working on studying the CEH and just got done with the Intro to Ethical Hacking and now I am making my way into the Laws section. This section seems very tedious with almost too much information to remember. I feel that if I study this section now come the test I won't remember most of it.
So I think I am going to skip this section for now work on the technical modules then loop back around to the laws section. I am hoping this is a good idea. Anyone here that has studied for the CEH V6 that can give me some insight on what I really need to know in the laws section and what to study, or is it just force into your brain and never forget it.
Here's a question, I started doing the self-study for the CEH v6 back in November and had to put it on hold due to work getting busy since we are integrating a new system. What is going to happen to the v6? I am guessing it will eventually retire but how quickly? Can I "upgrade" from v6 to v7? I am worried that the content I will be studying will be out of date and useless when V7 hits. Its unfortunate since I can not attend a live class and the flexible classes never met my schedule either. Anyone have any insight?
What study material did you use? I'm looking at trying to take it in late December.
Thanks all - I used CBT Nuggets Sec+ training, Sybase Security+ Study Guide, ProProfs free material and practicie along with prep logic and transcender for practice tests.
Passed the Security+ today. Studied for about 2 1/2 months. Think of going for the C|EH next and then a SANS cert. Very excited just had to share The test was a little rough, some questions of course were worded where you had to excel in gibberish as a 2nd language to understand them. Other than that not a bad test.
I am looking into to the CEH iLearn course and I am rather confused with the payment method. I have to send then a form with my credit card information on it via fax? That seems less secure then on the web over a secure connection. I am assuming I will fax it to a computer running software that receives fax and receives it as a PDF? It does say it will go to the director of accounting computer. Can anyone reassure me that this is OK, I really want to start working on this certification after I receive my Security + which will be in the next couple of weeks. But i want to make sure I am not going to get scammed.
