MacBook Pro Retina 15"
«

Hi there,
I am looking forward to buy the new MacBook pro retina 15" with this configuration:
I7 2.6GHZ
16GB Ram
SSD 256
Thunderbolt Gigabit Ethernet adapter
My question are:
1)Is MB Pro retina 15 good for password cracking?
2)Does the apple thunderbolt ethernet dongle support promiscuous mode?
Anyone out there actually used/tested the thunderbolt Ethernet adapter with wireshark?
Thanks in advance

Depending on what algorithm you're trying to crack, it will be either GPU intensive or CPU intensive. If you want a box that is ONLY for cracking, you should just build a desktop with multiple GPUs. If you need a box that can do some cracking but also be used for other things, just make sure you get a GPU in the box that is CUDA or OpenCL compatible. This way you can leverage tools like cudaHashcatPlus.

Thanks for your advice!
Anyone out there actually used the thunderbolt Ethernet adapter with wireshark or tcpdump?
Can you please tell me if it can works in Promiscuous Mode?

That might help. Seems that it does. If it doesn't, I would recommend picking up an Alfa USB adapter. Not only is it supported in BT but it also has interchangeable antennas.
