Hi All,

We have all done course online and I had some question and want to get some feedback.

I think this be really useful for people who run security courses online and for anyone thinking maybe starting a good security course.

1) Why did you pick the course ? Price of it, Reputation, Material covered or Awesome EH Free course

2) What was your fav topic in the course?

3) What did you find was missing or lacking? how could it have been improved?

4)If you was creating a hacking course what subject do you think are must that should been covered?

Are you talking about a specific course? Or just looking for answers to those questions to any/all online courses we've taken?

I will update this topic after I decide my next cert challenge:
OSWP (need to buy some HW),
OSCP (lack of time)
eCPPT (not sure how deep it goes).

Anyway I see 3 courses mentioned in your sig. Did you complete all of them? If so, please answer the questions in your opening post. I might help me out as well.

Well I am still doing hacking dojo so cant really comment on that.

I pick OSWP first as it was at price I could afford and wanted something on my cv that looked good.
I enjoyed all the area it covered and learn loads.

I felt the course was missing certain things like man in the middle rogue access points but since i done the course they have revised it.

Elearn I picked as it was a choice between that and OSCP again it was down to money as I could pay as you go with elearn i picked that.

Again all the subject covered were really good my fav was the web stuff but again they revised the course since i have done it so i am sure there better stuff now.

If I was creating a course I would want try covered everything in the course I have done but also I think some other stuff should be covered in more details:

HTML 5, XML/Soap
programming like python
more windows stuff like priv escalation, GPO, LDAP so on..
more advance attack on oracle and VPN
bypassing IDS, Firewalls, Vlan hopping
More basic on networks

I think there should be a course that will take a total newbi to someone who should be able to get job as junior pen tester. If i could take snippets from every course i think could build a really good course lol

The Hackingdojo Course,

The material in the course is really good and having a free lab is awesome too. The Hackingdojo course is more of a network based course than web a web application course. However you do cover web app attack but I am not sure in how much detail as not gotten to that part of the course.

The only bad bit about the course was you could not pay a flat fee to get the material and process at your own rate. I do know that Tom is working on this and has recently made changes to the course.

If you have any specific question I can try answer them.
