backtrack vs back box

hi
Recently i find backbox on googles so i wanna know even if i have the lateast version of backtrack do i need to download and learn it?

Just focus on learning the core concepts. The tools and distros are just for convenience.

Yah I find backtrack the best one as it has so many tools and it just works. Its great for newbi to get started with without worrying about dependancies and all the other fun stuff.
Then I perfer to use Ubuntu and install tools I want or mac with home brew.

If you are new to linux, try Ubuntu or Mepis first and get acquainted with basic commands and concepts. Then jump into Backtrack.
The latest revision is Backtrack 5r2, r3 is due very soon. You can get it here:

Im not new in ubuntu and i have backtrack too i can do whatever with it my point is backbox not backtrack i wanna know that if is it a good idea to work with it or not

Im not new in ubuntu and i have backtrack too i can do whatever with it my point is backbox not backtrack i wanna know that if is it a good idea to work with it or not
No one can answer that for you, so try it yourself and decide. It's free after all, you've got nothing to lose.
A lot of the tools on either distribution can easily be ported into any other Linux distribution. If you're familiar with Backtrack, then you should be able to quickly notice any differences in Backbox and decide whether you like it or not. Personally, I prefer Backtrack to Backbox, simply because I'm used to it and I like where everything is stored.

Why don't you download Back Box, use it in Virtual Box/VMware, and see how you like it...that doesn't take too much time.

No, if you're using Backtrack, why not stick to Backtrack? Why do you feel you need to try Back Track out of all the other pentesting OS's?

No, not needed to wait, install bk5r2 and when bk5r3 comes out you can just uopgrade it with the following commands :
Code:
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install beef
reboot
Also, they will post a full update section so there is absolutely no need to wait.

If you really want BT5 r3 there is a torrent on Pirate bay if you can access it.

Yeah backtrack is the best without any doubt but sometimes they may create more powerfull platform to run tool for example blackbunutu is another pentest os but i think everybody agree that backtrack is much better than it i only wanted to know peoples experience with backbox .
No man i have been waiting for r3 to download from official website its much better besides i have the r2 version

BackBox 2.05 Custom.
You can go with any distro.
Modify it. Modify it in a way that it becomes your own distro
.

There are lots choices I think as newbi tho backtract is the best way as it just have every tool know to man so you can setup lab and get running really fast
