I've been asked by FishNet to talk at this event, and I accepted. I'll be speaking on the Thursday night of iSWAT on:

Quote

"I’m Certified, Now What?"

Mr. Donzal wishes to not just have another talk at a conference but instead lead an interactive session on what’s next in your career. Sharing stories and industry insight is fine, but without audience participation, it’s impossible to make the advice practical. And that can make all the difference in the world. Even though Don will have an emphasis on security and, more specifically, ethical hacking, the joint discussion between him and the audience will apply to all professionals and varying levels on the ladder of success. Or it could come crashing down as a total failure of a presentation. Either way, it’ll be fun.

See you there,
Don

Just wanted to report back that this event was pretty cool last week. The guys at FishNet are very welcoming. They run a tight ship but also have fun.

The talk went well. I was nervous about the little experiment of doing this talk with absoutely no powerpoint whatsoever and relying on audience participation. ABout halfway through the time slot, I heard crickets. But after trying a little harder to get the group to open up, it worked. The floodgates opened and the conversation continued even past the talk and into the open bar reception.

I also had some great conversations about infosec, family and much more with unicityd. Great meeting you, and I'm sure it won't be the last time we chat over milkshakes.

Don,

It was good meeting you too.  I had a great time at the training and socializing after.  The Fishnet guys put on a pretty good event.

The training itself worked out well too.  I took the CISSP course and there were only two other students so we had a lot of discussion.  I'm hoping to take the exam in another week and a half after I finish re-reading the Harris book.
