Many of the books out there have been written by our peers and mentors. When one of us publish something we all support their work by either promoting it or picking up a legitimate copy or both. These guys work hard at doing their real job and take the time out to educate the rest of us. Also many of the good books are not too badly priced. 20-30 bucks. Case and point the Metasploit book from Dave Kennedy is down to 27 bucks from 50 bucks.
Anyway yeah certainly think before your post.

The relevant term is 'ethical.' Your post may be legal, because you are simply talking about it, not running the site. But sharing copyrighted materials is also unethical. That's the point we're making.
We don't condone, nor like to discuss, that type of thing.

n3r is referring to people who have purchased the book are theoretically entitled to a digital copy. I say theoretically because that's a grey area. If the publisher provides the digital copy, or if you scan it yourself, it's usually fine. You are not, however, permitted to redistribute that digital copy. That's the key element in this discussion; the owner of that site is illegally distributing these digital copies.

Thanks to all EH-Netters that keep us on the right path.
@midnight monster - No judgments. If this is what you choose to do, that's your choice. There are other places for that. We just don't do that here.
Also, be careful of the thought process that makes you think forum posters are not responsible. Plenty of cases out there where the host is not held responsible but the one who posts or uploads is.
Thanks for your other contributions in our forums. I look forward to more.
