Seriously?! Man, Anonymous vs the world soon... The cartel is massive.. I wonder if Anonymous can even make a dent. I do wish them the best of luck though! Just thought I'd pass on the link. Pretty interesting.

I saw this passed around on Twitter. Seems like a scary fight to me. If you fight the gov't, you usually get jail time. You go against a cartel, you are lucky if you get jail time.

Wow. I don't know about this one guys. You really, really need to think this over like you would a chess game. What is your move after this? What are the consequences? Taking on a cartel is going to turn your endgame into picking the best of terrible options. The most likely outcome is you get your boy killed just out of spite, and you probably get a lot of collateral folks killed as well. It is better than 50/50 chances that you end up hanging from a rope by your ankles with a blow torch on your wedding tackle. Think how many l337 h@xx0rs get doxed just in disputes over xbox matches. (google how topiary got pinched) How long do you think it'll take someone to dig up your info when the cartel posts a $50k reward just so they can go turn you into a lesson for everyone else?

Yeah, no kidding! Takes some big geek cojones to go after the Cartel.
Sure hope it works out (for anonymous) but there's a better chance it'll end in death for at least one of their members (or their member's members) and loss of some anonymity for the Cartel. How ironic.

Yep. Probably realized there would be too much collateral damage...better to go after their bank accounts and redistribute all that money into millions of random accounts.

I tried to help them get over it the best way I could think of. I just dropped off as many Blimpie subs as I could carry at Camp Anonymous in the middle of the Occupy Wall Street camp. Eat up guys, you need the energy for other lulz than the Zetas.

Hey Barrett? Barret Brown? Meet me at camera 3.
How many names on that list were helping the Zetas because they had no choice? You know, the entire "you'll help us or we'll kidnap your wife and daughter and put them through torture that hasn't been seen since the Spanish Inquisition" sort of motivation. It's great that Anonymous is made up of boys and girls that can make their own decisions to place themselves in danger. That is their prerogative and they deserve respect for that. However, I have trouble respecting anyone, at all, who makes the decision to place other people in danger while keeping themselves hidden. I don't know the inside details here. If you've vetted that list and reached a level of certainty that these folks are directly involved by their own decision, then fine, fire away. Based on the chatter in various pockets of the intergoogle, I don't know for sure if that is the case. If you're willing to get a lot of folks killed, along with their families, based on rumors and second hand info, then the threshold for morality and integrity within your organization is a lot lower than I had hoped.
