Looks like some pretty good specials if you were already planning on taking a course, but for me, whenever I look at a SANS course's price, my heart stops!  25% of a ton is still unfortunately way too much for lil ol me.  Wink

OnDemand FTW.....the prices are higher than the rest. But the materials are good stuff.

I've done SANS vLive, its good, but nothing compares to being in a live environment. I mean, SANS isnt like a boot camp, where you can get 1-1 instruction if needed, but still, I would like to experience it at least once.

This is an excellent deal, I'm definitely considering it. I purchased the GPEN exam, it came with 2 Practice Tests, and a Proctored. I've used up my 2 practice tests, making progress on the second one but I'm not feeling confident in regards to the laws and a couple other areas. I am kind of thinking, maybe I should do the OnDemand 504 class - which I believe is purely based online and you can go through the content on your own time? Use the knowledge gathered in that class to obtain the GCIH, and it along with the OSCP course should put me a solid enough position to be able to pass the GPEN exam. What are your thoughts?

p.s - Thanks for the link!

I just wish the test were a little cheaper. I would really like to take 3 live classes one day, I might have to wait for the 75% off sale lol

Cool offer shame they are so expensive I think sans seem to be more focused on corporate training than individual. It would take me long time to get that sort of money.

Laws are covered in the syllabus, but don't have a big weight in the test tough. Remember, the test is open book, so you can have notes with you. They are very handy for topics you don't feel confident.

I dream of the day when I can take a SANs course. They are definitely not geared to the average working person. I make a pretty good wage, but with a home and family to support there is no way to justify the high price that they charge. Oh well, some day...

I dont know if any have seen or looked at  the SANS master program but damn is that expensive. I called the other day and I was told the program is 30K and will be moving to 40K within the next month. The program is not accredited but by late 2013 it should be (so normal people can get financial aid).

Ok so SANS is expensive....but I believe that if you really want something you will find a way to get it. It's like exercising. A lot of folks will tell you that they have no time to go the gym. They have work, family, school and the list goes on. Yet when they are told by an MD that they risk dying if they do not start exercising. They suddenly find the time and resources.

The same hold true to these expensive certifications. It all depends on just how much you want it and the sacrifices you ar willing to make. What is the ROI?

A lot of the certs you see in my sig were personally funded. Do I have a high paying job? No. But you do what you have to.
