Hello forum.
I have had an interest in I.T security for some time now but had no idea where to look. I followed the advice I was originally given passed comptia A+, network+ and am now studying for network +. I also made contact with a person who runs his own cyber sec company who suggested that I consentrate on pen test. He also suggested just geting out there to see who was doing what and to set up my own virtual pentestiong lab. So after a few weeks of looking I decided to join this forum to ask for advice. What is the simplest way of getting started with studying this arena. Any advice appreciated.

Welcome and thanks for choosing us.

Good place to start would be to look at the pinned topics at the top of the Network Pen Testing Board.

Let us know what you think and let us know when you need some more info.

Good luck. It's fun and a lot of work, but very rewarding.

Don. Thanks for the reply. I had a look at the information you suggested. At the moment I would like to find a good logical place to start. I am a little way into my security + course and some area's are becoming clear. So hopefully in a while I may be able to pose some more sencible questions.
Again thanks.
