Getting kicked back into the mix

Hello,

Well I thought I made a post introducing myself but I got logged out and don't find the post. So I am happy to be here and look forward to sharing and learning.

I retired from my employment after 12 years of IT Manager. I am now forced to un-retire and get back in the mix. I am bringing my security knowledge up to current bleeding edge as my 'White Hat' knowledge of 'Black Hat' activities is out of date.

I do know a few things and I am happy to share but primarily I have joined this and other communities seeking to enhance and improve my knowledg of those issues critical to safe and secure computing.

Well, welcome aboard, David.  Always glad to see folks using the knowledge, even if only to protect their own environments (ie - not trying to be a pentester by trade.)

You'll definitely have plenty of reading here, and can always ask questions, if you have any.

Again, welcome!

Well you know, that's right. No place for old men. In fact because I learned on the Job (I have actually been working with computers and automated systems a very long time) I have no MCSE or any of that stuff. Still I did train lots of young 'uns with their certs how to actually do it. But it is an impediment to re-mployment to not have all them there fancy certs and whatnot.

By the way good Movie.

I have another life as well you can check me out on Facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/ I think that gets you there and on IMDB at these links.

So wasn't that fun?
