Please recommend some Pen Test training!
«

My company is finally sending me out for a training class of my choice. From a price perspective, I've been told "something in the range of a SANS conference" would be appropriate.
I'm looking for something in the realm of web application penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. This is a cornerstone of the work I perform at my company, so I'm looking for something practical and hands on.
I do have a C|EH, but that's pretty entry level. I was looking at the LTP track from eccouncil, but my company company has shot that down.
So, any good recommendations? Thanks!

I have heard nothing but good things about the SANS courses. For your requirements, I'd start there. The offensive security courses are great too, but its not as focused on your requirements.

I'm going through the SANS web app pentest materials now via OnDemand and audio files and I am learning a ton! I don't have a strong application background though so YMMV. I just started day 2 (out of 6) and am really excited to see what comes next. Really great course!

GREM VLive was great and I thought about the web app pentest course, but instead I am deciding to go with Stanford's ACSC

Let me know what you think of the overall course, which reminds me... I have to schedule the actual GREM exam.

I did the "Penetration Testing with Backtrack" course after my CEH and it was great for me. But like the others have said, SANS offers great courses too...

In my opinion, LPT from EC Council looks pretty rubbish in comparison to OSCP.

Well, you can check out the InfoSec Institute.
I manage the resources part of their website and we run a lot of articles that could be of use to pentesters looking to add to their skillset.
http://resources.infosecinstitute.com/tag/penetration-tests/
Has a few articles tagged for penetration tests and there are others you might find interesting.
