Has anyone recently taken these courses.  I am about to drop the money to pay for the first one and then in May pay for the second one.

I have been reading over the syllabus for these courses and I have actually been able to speak to the instructor that will be teaching the courses as they are on the Forensics forum that I am on also.  The class seems to be tightly run and they seem to do a great deal of teaching the basics which is what I need more than anything, plus i get a bunch of tools like a Write Blocker, Helix Boot CD, etc....

Anyways let me know if you have gone through these courses.

I will be giving a evaluation of the courses when I have completed them which will be in May and then in August.

Pretty stoked, I am leaving in two days for this class.  Time flys when I am logging onto this site everyday to learn stuff.

I will come back and write a lengthy review about my impressions of the class and the teacher.

Who's instructing your class, is it Rob Lee or Hal?

Actually I do have a question now.  So I get two practive exams and then the real test and have 120 days to complete it.  I get the materials 10 days after completing the class.  Should I wait till I can study more to take the test or should I just knock this out ASAP so I don't loose any info I have retained.

I am thinking of knocking it out real quick after the paractice exams.

I think that'd be more of a personal choice and how well you feel about the material.  I would choose to study more and take the practice exams prior to taking the actual exam.  Going over that study material more will only help retain it better as you get further into your infosec career.  The practice exams will ensure that you're retaining it as you go through your studying.  At that point I would feel comfortable taking the real exam.

Sans Forensic classes are excellent from what I've heard, I'm hoping once I finish my AAS in Computer Forencis in Oct to be able to get work to shell out to send me to some of the training.  I live in NVA so Sans HQ isn't tooo far away from me.  Josh what forum are you on?

I am in two different ones .

Forensicfocus & computer forensics world.. personally the people on this site are far nicer. I disagree with the way that certain people talk to each other on that first site I mentioned.
