DEF CON 19
August 4 - 7, 2011
Las Vegas, NV
What is DEF CON?
It has become a cultural event all hackers must attend at least once in their lives. This, combined with Black Hat and now BSidesLV, is now the one event each year I don't miss. See below for more descriptions from their FAQs:
Official DEF CON FAQ v0.95
Unofficial Defcon FAQ v3.0
Venue (New Location Alert!)
Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
3700 West Flamingo Road
Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 777-7777

They were at the Rio before?
I have been twice to the Riviera (Defcon 17 and 18) but never to the Rio. When were they there? Is it bigger than the Riviera?

Hah! That's where I was thinking... friggin Riviera. Ok... the Rio, yeah that's new to me. I am just tired of the Riviera. Rio.. yeah, I think I went there for brunch once. Sorry! Heh.

No problems g00d_4sh!
I agree with you the Riviera is somehow below average. And the food is really crapy around this casino...
Let's hope the Rio is better!

Amen. I didn't stay at the Riv though, my worst stay in Vegas was the NOT-SO Imperial Palace... that wont' happen again. Paris last year wasn't bad, but I'm hoping to snag gov rate at the Bell this year.

I'll be in Vegas all week doing as much as I can. You're more likely to find me at one of the parties.

I was unexpectedly able to make an "emergency" change in my schedule and book a trip. I'd love to meet any other EHer's who are able to make it out. I had to miss out the last couple of years because of various circumstances, so I was truly glad that "the third time is a charm" held true.
(I will be with DC225 - check out the presentation on Friday night)
