I emailed in, but never received an answer so I am hoping someone here might be able to help.  I purchased the course in May and never got to finish it.  I still have access to the material, but wondered how I could go about taking the test?  I assume there would be a fee, but I cannot find anything on the site in reference of what to do next.  Thanks in advance!

You should ask on the community forums:
http://community.elearnsecurity.com/ or e-mail Armando directly. The support e-mail they're a tad slow!

I was actually just wondering the same thing. Never got around to doing the exam for the course (had too much going on at the same time). Looks like you've posted in the forums there, so I'll keep an eye. Thanks.

I got a response and I also found the information in a FAQ.  Basically, you can contact support and for $100 you will be given a 30 day extension to take the exam.

There are two options, if you don't make it to take your exam within 4 months from the enrollment:

  • Extend your deadline by further 30 days ($100)
  • Purchase a new voucher to take the exam whenever you want($200)

Hope this clarifies everything about it

When the $200 show up in the web site, I never saw that.

It's something we have not yet published.

Now demand for it has increased and we are going to add the possibility to get the 2 options from within the new certification area that will be live in the Memebers area in few days. It will then be publicly announced.

There is something that I begin to percive. You set aparently low price the training but begin to increase prices like $200 (this is a lot). That's make it less attractive.

Dear impelse,
We are including a voucher in the current price.
This voucher allows our students to carry out the exam within 4 months (+ 1 month to do the actual exam) from the enrollment.

Moreover our exam is the ONLY that involves a review from one of our instructors. Personally.

If no time limit was in place the following would happen:
Students would ask to take the exams after years when most of the contents would be outdated and updating our exam engagement with new tools/challenges would be awkward.

I also don't believe the voucher is high in price. Handling a manual review of a pentesting report including suggestions for improvements is a time consuming effort (that it's anyway free if you do it within 4 months).

I would copy and paste vouchers for other certifications that don't even have a report involved. But I see from your signature that you already know what I mean.

Let me clarify once again that WE ARE NOT INCREASING ANY PRICE.
We have just introduced the possibility to take our exam at any time.

You are clearly perceiving it wrong.
