I saw a post here which answered quite a bunch of people doing penetration testing alone or as a freelance thus I was wondering if someone from EH can come forward and make up a procedure to do pen test , sounds scary but it really doesn't means one should write up ways how to work on scripts and which scripts , what I am taking about is from business point of view having included the OSSTMM work and all that ... the procedure to do so

Such procedures are called Penetration Testing Frameworks aka Pentest Methodology.

There is of course the well known OSSTMM but also NIST SP800-42 and ISSAF too!  Wink (link: http://www.oissg.org/issaf )

That's pretty much what I officially can recommend  Smiley

I also remember skape or HD Moore writing a good paper about penetration testing too.
