Passed Security+
«
on:
September 01, 2010, 12:44:56 AM »
Passed yesterday my Security+ exam.
Thought I should do it as long as the recertification thing wasn't applied, so I don't have to worry about it in future. Exam was pretty easy, however, some questions were worded pretty weird and often it was asked about the 'best-practice' answer where several answers seemed to be legit ones.
For studying I used CompTIA Security+ Exam Cram (2nd Edition), CompTIA Security+ Deluxe Study Guide: SY0-201 and Train Signal videos.

Congratulations!
The Security+ isn't the most difficult exam, but if you do well on it, it only proves that you can do well on any other certification exam!

For studying I used [...] CompTIA Security+ Deluxe Study Guide: SY0-201[...].
That's good to know. I've been trying to read that one for almost a year (I'll get a chapter in, and have to put uit down, and then restart couple of months later).
Congratulations awesec

Another resource that I've been seeing get a lot of love is this:
http://www.amazon.com/CompTIA-Security-Certified-Ahead-SY0-201/dp/1439236364
I haven't read it myself, but I know a lot of people who swear by it.

Thanks. Indeed, the Get Certified Get Ahead book seems to be one of the best at this date, as of what I've heard of. The kindle edition is available for only $9.99.

Congratulations!
If you didn`t use any cheat sheets, or test like pass4sure, and you found it easy, I can tell you that you are halfway through CISSP.
Of course you have to study more, but you already covered all the domains.
