Recommendations for Account Managment?

Hey All,
Account management at the user level is easy enough through AD, but what do you recommend for service accounts? I'm looking to have some sort of management system that doesn't drive the admins batty, but gets us in compliance with top 20 critical controls. Any thoughts, suggestions?
