«

I would like to inquire about VPS for free , I have seen several blogs and websites advertising free VPS for a limited period , some for 6 months , even some for 24 months but they all sort of looks like expired , I saw an indian post about providing VPS having 50mb hdd space for free , I do have emailed that but has anybody got links to get some free stuff ??

It's not free, but I'll vouch for ARP Networks. You get a lot for only $10/mo.

The only down-side is that they sell out quick and you need to get on a waiting list. I waited almost two months for mine.

Thanks mate ,
Some are offering VPS for free but they need posting to be done on sites .. it can be a scam too because I contacted one of 000webhost people and they said giving out free VPS is just out of someones pocket even for company like 000webhost .

Since I am a no pro pen tester , I would like to inquire what kind of things VPS help you dynamik .
1) Client has blocked port 443 and only allowed 80 , so I can use stunnel on VPS to redirect traffic if I wana open any https
2)If client has blocked web browsing I can ssh into VPS and use LYNX to browse the internet etc.
What else help VPS brings professionally during pen tests and other situations ?

I just talked about it recently in this thread:
http://www.ethicalhacker.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,54/topic,5923.msg31439/#msg31439
Honestly, aside from the security-centric stuff, it's just been a good learning experience too. I really hadn't done anything with BSD up until that point, so it was fun to just dive in and try to get things working.
