I am looking for a utility to crack a salted password hash from a Linux box (My Test environment).  I can use John for this but want to know of some utility that I can potentially take the md5 such as $1$12345678$XM4P3PrKBgKNnTaqG9P0T/ and crack it?  I came across, passwordpro, is it any good?
