This is a talk Marisa Fagan, Security Project Manager, Errata Security gave to students of Georgia State University.

She focuses on topics such as:
You need a blog.
You should be on Twitter.
You have to create your own internship.
You must learn to love public speaking.

Very relevant IMHO.

How about public speaking? May be a paper presentation or CFP Submission? That is one of the best way to get active, learn and share.
