Hello everyone,

FITSP - Federal IT Security Professional - Came across this certification today

Quote

About FITSI

FITSI is the Federal IT Security Institute which is a non-profit organization managing and administering the FITSP certification program.  FITSP stands for the Federal IT Security Professional and is broken into four individual IT security certification programs targeted at the Federal workforce based upon role.

What is FITSP?

FITSP is an IT security certification program targeted at the Federal workforce (civilian personnel, military and contractors).  This certification program synergizes the knowledge of other security certifications with the standards and practices that are being used by the United States Federal government.  There are four different IT security roles that FITSP covers:  Manager, Designer, Operator and Auditor.

and

Any FITSPs here? I came across this certification today and though of sharing with the community. Really wonder if a non-US applicant is eligible for it. Also please not that they have the grandfathering program available until December 31st, 2010. So wishing all the best for all those who gonna aim for FITSP.

I've been meaning to apply for it. Maybe I'll do it this week.

This is the first I've heard of it. Is there any demand for this certification? The domain was only registered back in September 2009, and only for a year that. Plus the website itself only seems to have half the information it should. Putting those factors together (plus the grandfathering in), it seems more to me like a "hey, let's try this out and see if it works" type project that really isn't complete yet. Might be worth keeping an eye on to see if anything develops for it in the future though.
