Netbooks can run BT 4 and pen test decently well? I'm strapped for cash and that is interesting news indeed...

Absolutely.   I don't run BT normally, but I do have it on a fast SD card.   It runs just fine.   I would only suggest that you pop an extra 1GB of RAM if yours comes with 1GB RAM.  It made the world of a difference on mine.

I havent bought anything yet, but was looking at what System76.com had to offer regarding laptops. Could the netbook they have listed work ok?

Bunny -
Welcome to the group.  I had an issue with BT4 Pre with the ethernet adapters.  This was my thread about it...
http://forums.remote-exploit.org/newbie-area/25490-aspireone-d250-no-network.html

Ultimately, BT4 Final worked fine without adjustments to the wireless.

I have acer Aspire AS5742G-7200, has a plastic chassis, with lid and palm rest panels imprinted with a decorative textured pattern. The texture provides a nice feel, effectively hiding any fingerprints and smudges while also providing a bit of traction when using or carrying the laptop.
you should try it.

What is Operating System of choice and why?!
We have several choices like Windows, Linux, Solaris, and more... which one is your favorite?
Me? I am using GNU/Linux, particularly PCLinuxOS 2007 coz it suites my desktop needs like encoding, some spreadsheet tasks, editing our website, chat, browsing the web, listen to music, watch movies.. and more!
