I stumbled across a great podcast that is hosted by an old buddy of mine.  Cyberspeak is weekly podcast that covers a lot of ground in the forensics area.  The content is current and useful and I have used some of the podcasts as CPEs for my CISSP.

I picked up a great book a few months ago "Real Digital Forensics".  It is a great read !!  Real forensic case data and investigations not a bunch of therory

I am sure there are a bunch of other books and podcasts in this area ..... If you have suggestions I would like to hear them.

Enjoy !

Forensics is an area of this site that we are looking to grow. But as for Real Digital Forensics, check out the free chapter on this site at:

Also, take a look at The 'Tools Proven in Court' Question at:

I'm on the lookout for a forensics guru to add as a regular columnist, so if your friend is interested, let me know.

LiveAmmo has a pretty decent podcast series on forensics. Delivered in a sort of classroom lecture style. Lot's of information.

I bought Real Digital Forensics earlier this year to read on holiday. It's a great read, made all the better for the 'evidence' supplied on the DVD that accompanies the book. It's a good read as a starter for anyone who has a interest in forensics, and I'd recommend it as a good read. The evidence DVD gives you the chance to walk through scenarios similar to the skillz challenges but in more depth.

Cyberspeak is a very good podcast too. I believe that Ovie was speaking at Blackhat this year.
