The online version of Technology Review today carries a story I wrote about a government funded research group that is preparing to release a new free tool designed to block “drive-by downloads,” attacks in which the mere act of visiting a hacked or malicious Web site results in the installation of an unwanted program, usually without the visitor’s consent or knowledge.

Looks like a very interesting concept.
Now I know I am not paranoid for running Firefox, with No Script, Adblock Plus, and sticking with FoxIT PDF at home.
If I could just find a decent replacement for Adobe Flash. I have not tried Gnash (
http://gnashdev.org/
) and the other hopeful SWFDec (
http://swfdec.freedesktop.org/wiki/
) hasn't been updated in awhile.

I am actually hoping that Adobe Flash gets replaced by something else, period. It runs so horribly on Linux.
