I set up a wireless network with WPA/TKIP encriptation to try to crack it.
I got the 4 way-handshake in a .cap file but I cant load the .cap with RainbowCrack. I'd like to know how to get the hash from the .cap file.
Sorry if its a newbie question  Undecided

I appreciate your attention  Smiley

I haven't used the program, but if it's not liking the .pcap, what about extracting the stream you want out of the file, and then running rainbow on that?

Thats the point. I runned aircrack with this .cap file and used a wordlist. It tryed to crack, so I know the hash is there. But I dont know how to find the hash in the file. That's where I need some help.

I suggest using cowpatty to crack wpa with rainbow tables.
You can find a great video on doing this at http://www.securitytube.net/Using-CowPatty-in-Backtrack-4-video.aspx.

Thanks, Bamed. I'll try with cowpatty. Just curiosity: is there a way to get the hash?
