POSITION SUMMARY
 
We are currently looking for security minded individuals to support RIM's comprehensive efforts to respond to emergent cyber-threats or incidents involving BlackBerry. The successful candidate will work in a fast paced, highly dynamic and challenging environment. The candidate will work with various teams across the organization to support vulnerability mitigation efforts from identification of potential issues to analysis, mitigation and related communications.
The ideal candidate will gain experience in building and managing relationships in a large complex ecosystem and at solving problems at the intersection of technology and people.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Monitor and report on external information sources to uncover potential / emerging security threats
•Provide front-line analysis/triage of potential issues
•Exercise good judgment in escalating issues
•Manage initial relationships with researchers and support the resolution of customer security concerns
•Work with research and engineering teams to analyze new security threats
•Work with external organizations and response teams to maintain timely and effective communications
•Track and report on remediation efforts of security issues
•Work with customer facing teams and to continually improve processes for identifying security issues
•Committed to continually deepening their knowledge and skills in support of maintaining the security of BlackBerry
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Familiar with common classes of product security vulnerabilities
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
•Cool under pressure, objective, diplomatic
•Ability to track and manage numerous parallel activities
•Demonstrated analytical skills
•The ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team
•Bachelor degree, Masters degree or equivalent in a computer science/engineering related field
Other Beneficial Skills
•Knowledge of BlackBerry products and services
•Java/C++ programming experience and understanding of related concepts
•Application security configuration and best practices
•Wireless communications security (802.11, Bluetooth, cellular data etc)

Preference will be given to those with professional security response experience and/or those with professional product security consulting experience.
