Does anyone have a good experience with a light open-source monitoring tool?   I am looking for something similar to IPSentry.   I tested a few tools but they were too bulky and overkill for what I need to do.   I need the following features:

1. Ping hosts
2. Connect to Web Apps via HTTP and HTTPS
3. Monitor Resources (through an agent)
4. Monitor Windows Event Log for certain messages
5. Accept and parse syslog.
5. Monitor certain logs
6. Run a SQL query.

That's it for features.

I am not sure, but would Nagios fit into this category?
