For several months now I've been harassed by a hacker and his crew. He has taken over everything and apparently there is no stopping him? He gets up when I get up. He has hijacked my hosts file. He is pretty damn malicious. I have done NOTHING to this man yet he keeps it going to infinity.

What would YOU have done?

Static IP or Dynamic IP, it doesn't matter. If he has control of your computer, it's probably connecting back either way. Just call your ISP and have your IP address changed. You still need to clean and secure your system. I think you need to Google up some security basics and then come back and ask more specific questions. Good luck.

Disconnect from network. Reinstall windows. No point changing ISPs or changing IPs beccause if you continue to use the same websites they'll find your new IP anyway.

Secure your box and then reconnect back to the net.

You need to reinstall windows first off. I would think he has some kind of root kit installed on your machine or other malware that is allowing him to access your machine. If you change IP's or ISP's it won't help, the software that he has installed will just start reporting back to him you new IP.

The only way you will get rid of him is a clean fresh install.

You should also make sure when you rebuild that you have AV running and it is always up to date. Also might want to run some anti malware software such as adaware.

Let me know if you need any help.

I would guess that someone isn't targeting you, but the malware on your machine is just too hard to remove. I have seen a lot of malware that is hard to remove unless you really know what you are doing, and even then it isn't 100% guaranteed. If you remove the malware and reboot all the bad things come right back.

The best cure for this is to copy the data you need and reinstall windows.
