Congrats! Who taught your class, out of curiosity?

Interesting, I haven't done one of those. How did you find it compared to an instructor led class?

Great, congrats! Is this your first GIAC exam? My favorite thing about their tests is the 'grade-as-you-go' thing... so once you hit that minimum mark, it's a good feeling

What did you think of the exam?

Personally I prefer the self-study approach.

The responses from the mentor's were very helpful. Seth Misenar chimed in on a few responses. So they were quality responses.


This is my first giac exam. The exam as you know is open book. Having said that though if you are not familiar with the material you might have a problem. And by that I mean you need to not only know the material but also where to find it. Which is a nice seqway into saying big thanks to Jhaddix who posted some tips on passing the giac exam.  The advice on creating an index was extremely helpful. The final exam is a bit more difficult than the practice runs.

The course was fun and I am now looking at doing the Web App track Sans542.
