Hi,
Ive recently been looking for PHP Static Code Analysis software on the web, I have come acorss a couple however they have either gone stale or are so complicated you may as well just go through the code yourself manually.

I was wondering if any one knew of any FREE hidden gems out there which I could give a go?

Thank you,
Ryan

Have you tried this?

http://strategoxt.org/PHP/WebHome

Found it in a quick search, seems to be somewhat updated (March 09) and seems easy to use.

Thanks for the link BillV. I gave it a try however it keeps spitting out errors (non PHP related) when ever I try to scan a file. I also tried 'Pixy' however it doesnt understand some of PHP's syntax and gives 'syntax errors'.

Maybe im expecting too much from SCA tools.

You probably just need to pay to get a decent one.. I know Fortify works pretty well (not sure of the cost).
