Hi

I am aiming to go in the technical direction of security i.e. Penetration Testing, Web App Assessment and was wondering what recommended SANS courses and exams i should do?

This should help: http://www.sans.org/training/courses.php#security
Have a look at GPEN and GCIH specifically and as a start GSEC

Thanks Data_Raid

Just one more quick question, do you think that having a SANs qualification is more worthwhile or should i stick with C|EH?

You'll definitely find SANS to be more technical...

I've taken the Penetration Testing class (Sec 560) class as well as the Incident Handling Class (Sec 504). I highly recommend both classes. If you don't have a strong background in security I would recommend Security Essential (Sec 401), while not as sexy it is a good source of info.

I am taking Web App Pen Test (Sec 542) this summer and I'll report back when I complete the class.
