According to EC-Council Scheme Committee, the ECE System will be delayed for at least 6 months to accommodate some members that just came to know about this system:

Quote
In the inaugural meeting, the members of the scheme committee agreed to the suggestion by certain members that the implementation of the ECE System be delayed for at least 6 months to accommodate some of the members that just came to know about this system.

EC-Council has requested the Scheme Committee to review the present ECE system and make recommendations so as to incorporate any new changes that will add value to the certified community and increase the value of the certification without necessarily burdening the membership base.

As such, we are extending the enforcement of the ECE System by providing an extension or grace period of 6 months from the final recommendations of the Scheme Committee being accepted by the Council.

Supposedly, all your credit points collected up to now will not be affected. According to an EC-Council Portal member, this delay will provide you more time to accumulate minimum points to keep your certification active.

That is accurate. Due to ANSI rules, anything that has already been given (points, expiration dates) cannot be changed/taken back.

We actually thought 6 months was too long, but I guess they decided to let it go a little longer..
