A good resource for getting started in lockpicking:

http://www.lockpicking101.com/

The forum there is very helpful with lots of advice ranging from help for the truly green to technical details on high security locks. Good stuff!

I'll second that - I've been a member there since the beginning of 2004 (not under this nick name). if you can get past the regular newbie questions you'll find there's a lot of knowledgable locksmiths ans hobyists alike hanging arround.

the (restricted) advanced forum has quite a bit more information about higher security locks and different bypass methods that are not discussed in the open forum.

Jason,

excellent link. I got into LockPicking a few months ago, really need to find some more time for it (perhaps over Christmas).

It really is an interesting hobby. I got myself a GOSO and Southord set, just need to get some more locks to mess about with.

I'm pretty new to it myself, it is definitely a fun hobby. I also have the southford kit, but that goso looks really nice. I may have to put that on my list. I hinted at locks for xmas, so hopefully I'll have some new fodder shortly.  Grin

SouthOrd has some good stuff - nd they sell to anybody.
I picked up my first pick sets there.

Here's a decent flick on making your own picks (haven't tried it yet - but intend to):

I've been doing lockouts on the side for over six years off and on,, home/business/auto. Let me know if you have any questions.
