Ahh those crazy Aussies:

If this isn't a bad precedent, then I don't know what is.

The focus of their wrath seems to be on the use of bittorrent, one of the few P2P networks that actually sees significant non-piracy use. I guess they would like to hobble all users and the consequences to the law-abiding be damned. So no change there.

Ford also 'allow' drivers to run over children and puppies. Please think of the children and outlaw all cars.
And in other news, oxygen 'allows' the BadPeople
tm
to breathe...

Another good example of people who don't understand the technology. Even if this gets pushed through its just going to force the pirates to be more clever and harder to track down.

For every solution they develop to try and prevent piracy some clever IT guru always come up with a way to circumnavigate it. Even if they stop piracy on the internet what's stopping another person from going over to a friends house, borrowing a disc and burning that. In theory the moral ideas are in the right place but it is a battle that can never be won.
Lol and for the record not all of us australian's are crazy, we only get crazy after a few drinks
