Lesson #1.  Learn to Search.
What this means... is look over the site to which you just posted.  Do they have any tutorials on various hacking subjects?  Yes, indeed we do.  Both excellent column posts and forum threads.  Search to see if anyone has asked an almost identical question.  This again, is a yes.  What resources were suggested to said posts?  It would be a prudent course of action to access said resources rather than repeating the exact question that has been asked before without taking the time to look over the site to which you are posting.

Lesson #2.  Learning to 'Hack windows" or hacking at all WILL take time.  If you are serious about learning it... suffice to say you WILL be devoting hours, days... weeks, yes years of your life to becoming proficient.  That is... becoming more than a script kiddie who can run a few quick canned scans and put metasploit on autopwn.

I am not going to search through the forum as I usually do and post links to the other identical posts.  Instead I will suggest this.  The best way to learn anything is to become a good listener.  On a forum like this, that means to spend time reading.  If you don't find reading through numerous threads and posts trying to glean the hidden gems within, it is unlikely you will possess the patience to do the required learning to become a proficient hacker.  Hackers in general are a breed that possesses an inate desire to learn and press the envelope further, if you have the initiative to pour through the extensive forum and learning resources we have here, you will be on your way toward such a goal.

 Shocked

Read some good books, take note of what is said (and of course make sure what you are doing is legal)

A couple of books I recommend for a noob to get a nice grounding of protocols, tools and what to look for:

Network Security Assessment (2nd Edit)
HackNotes (old but good)

Hacking thru email - don't you get enough spam in your own inbox with zip file attachments or links to PAYPOL (and no I have spelt that right)
Phishing was okay and still gets the unsuspecting, spear phishing is more direct but takes more time.  Profiling is the way forward  Wink
