I have decent experience in IT, though i am no professional by any means. Im trying to learn all i can about especially security, i figure testing my own wireless network would be a good place to start. If anyone could help me out I would be very appreciative

First read everything in the aircrack-ng site. Its the number one tool for hacking wireless.

im basically just trying to hack my own wireless. ive got it secured with wpa2 and encrypted with aes. ive heard it can be can done buts its not easy

As stated already, read up about Aircrack-ng, and CoWPAtty for more information on the WPA related techniques.
