i have just installed vmware and i got a error message saying vista is not supported, i figured i would try anyway, i am in the middle of installing ubuntu, which i plan to customize with a bunch of goodies. So far everything is going smooth, has anyone else run into problems with vmware and vista?

Thanks

From vmware 6.0 onwards vista is completely supported. If you have an earlier version of vmware then only "experimental" support or no support of vista is there. Thus the problem.

Is this Player or Server? All versions of Server will tell you that it may not work on a client OS.

I'll second Shakuni's thoughts also.
