I'll take a crack at this one. Ahem...

According to Wikipedia "A wight is a Middle English word that means a creature or living being". In response to the recent decline in popularity of hats constructed from furs or skins that have been vacated by their previous owners (raccoons for instance), the wight hat was developed. This hat, constructed from furs or skins that are still occupied, provides not only a more peta-friendly alternative for the fur chapeau enthusiast, but also a lively workout for the patron brave enough to go out for a night on the town with an angry 40 pound boar raccoon strapped to their head. Coming soon to discerning furrier near you!

Hahahaha I like that answer it acutely means a grade

1)   Wight hat = good helps people
2)   Grey hat     =  On the fringe of helping people
3)   Black hat    = Just causes destruction

The jokes stem from the spelling. Don't know if this is a culture issue, but most spell it:

White

I always think of the fantasy based undead creature that lives in barrows.  Like... in Lord of the Rings. Wink  They chill you to the bone!
