Slander @ EC-Council
«
on:

Apparently EC-Council is a little upset at some things that have been said about them by other training providers. They're also urging people to make sure that when taking a training course for an EC-Council certification, make sure it's with an Authorized Training Partner.

This certainly makes my decision easier as far as which cert to NOT attempt next.

Maybe I am confused but did the EC-Council warning actually say that even after you get your CEH certification from EC-Council you can't take training from "unauthorized" training providers?
I hope I read that wrong and that isn't what they are saying. What does everyone else think?

Where did you see that? I don't see anything like that mentioned.
It's the same warning they've had posted in the past elsewhere on the site... "don't take training at non-ATC providers."

That caught my eye, too.

...and risk having their certifications revoked.
Someone has to already have a cert for it to be revoked. Unless this means that ECC somehow let someone slip through the cracks of the process and only later found out that it was an unauth ATC.
Hmmmmm...

Ohh, yeah, good call. I was thrown off by the way geekyone worded that. I think it's always been that way. They've always had warnings against attending training at an un-authorized training center saying it wouldn't qualify you to receive the certification.
I don't know about SU, but Mile2 has had stuff posted on their site for as long as I've known about them stating quite clearly that they are
not
an ATC through EC-Council.

Yeah, so long as you can show 2 years security experience you're good to go.
